ELPUT Checklist (Expected Long-Term Profit Per Unit Time)

Run these questions before you build any automation:

1) What is the business goal in one sentence?
2) Which metric moves in 30 days if this works?
3) What is the smallest shippable version?
4) What can break and how do we contain it?
5) What data is required and is it reliable?
6) What is the owner and review cadence?
7) What is the kill condition if it does not work?

If you cannot answer 1 to 3 clearly, pause and simplify the project.
